Some Blue Peter style fun

December 1st, 2008 by Matt Williams

So, last night myself and a few friends had a bit of fun making some placards for the march. We were making in bulk, so we needed a lot of materials, but if you’re just making one or two placards it should be quite straightforward. We used bamboo from a DIY/garden store, cardboard (some of [...]

Meeting Point

November 19th, 2008 by Matt Williams

Apologies for any confusion, but the meeting point for the march is now Grovesnor Square. The nearest underground station is still Marble Arch. The meeting time is still the same (12noon), the route is still the same and you can still come and find us with our uber-banner. This is very near to the original [...]

National Climate March Website Launched

October 30th, 2008 by Matt Williams

The UK Youth Climate Coalition today launched its official website for the National Climate March, being held on 6th December

What:

National Climate March

When

Saturday, 6 December 2008, at 12pm

Where

Grosvenor Square, London (Marble Arch Tube)

Something amazing is happening…

All across the world, young people are realising that they have the power to take on the climate crisis.

We are laying the foundations – switching to energy efficient light bulbs, cutting down on waste and now we’re ready to take it to the next level. The Global Day of Action is the moment when young people will join together to set out our vision for a safer and smarter world.

We are ready.

Ready for a clean energy economy:

An economy that’s based on reliable, renewable energy rather than Victorian technologies like coal.

Ready for 21st century transport:

A modern public transport system that gets us from A to B without the hidden financial and environmental costs of flying.

Ready for green jobs:

Secure and well-paying green jobs that can never be sent abroad, turning the UK into a world leader in clean technologies.

The choices our leaders are making now will have impacts that will outlast their careers, but will shape our future.

We invite you to be part of an exciting, positive and important movement of young people who have the guts to overcome the failed assumptions of the last century.

We are ready for change. Are you?

Our time is now.
